Placemats set the material vocabulary the rest of the table follows, and the choice is mostly about how the light behaves. Glass stones and pearls throw hard points of reflection and read formal; the Luminous collection gives a broad even glow and carries pattern — houndstooth, tie dye, holiday shapes — across the whole mat. Metallic beadwork sits between the two.
Round mats want a round plate to look deliberate; square ones forgive more. For a coastal table without the glitter, the shell mats keep the sheen.
