Beadwork behaves differently from stone: the surface is textured rather than faceted, so it catches light in a low warm wash instead of sharp points — closer to metal than to glass. That makes metallic mats the easier choice for a table you eat at every week; they read as finished without demanding the rest of the setting match, and gold beadwork sits comfortably with wood, brass, and warm-toned dinnerware.
